DINING ROOM

THE DINING ROOM

The Dining Room is in the Centre of Orchard Bank and a team of cooks work on different days to provide a nutritious two-course meal followed by tea or coffee. There is always someone on site in the dining-room and kitchen between 9.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. Dietary requirements are taken into account. As a service to the community, lunches are often cooked for a number of elderly people who live nearby and others join residents from time to time for an inexpensive but delicious lunch. Committee Members regularly eat in the dining room to meet residents and ensure that everyone is happy with current arrangements. Residents are also encouraged to invite friends and family for lunch. The Dining Room contains a computer for residents to use. There is a small library of books and a jigsaw is always 'on the go'.

THE KITCHEN

All the staff who are employed to cook have a mandatory three-year food hygiene qualification and the kitchen has a five star food hygiene certificate.

FACILITIES

Although some residents have their own appliances, there are washing machines and tumble driers in the utility area for general use. There are also recycling bins for bottles, cans and paper.
